Submission to God's will

At the funeral of (Princeton College) President (Samuel) Davies, just as the people were about to take up the coffin, his mother, an aged widow, came to take the last look at her son. She gazed intently upon him; the tears fell upon the face of the corpse as she bent over it; and then, retiring a single step as she still gazed upon him, she exclaimed, 'There lies my only son, my only earthly comfort and earthly support. But there lies the will of God, and I am satisfied.' This was Christian submission. Taken from the book The Mission of Sorrow by Gardiner Spring 1862 Samuel Davies 1723-1761 (email from Jeff Haavisto)

Youth cloth diapers

I found cloth diapers that fit my 7 year old Gracie: Snap EZ Youth small pocket diapers. They're quick dry pocket diapers like Fuzzi Bunz except large enough for Gracie with lots of growth potential! $12 each. I also bought material to make some more using a pattern bought online, but for now, I bought 8 of these diapers to try out and trouble shoot!

Adoption links

Have you considered adoption? Consider that there is NO clearer picture of the Gospel than adoption of children in need as God adopted us and, through Christ, made us full heirs to His kingdom with Jesus Christ! Take a look at Reese's Rainbow which focuses on children with Down Syndrome but also on other children with unique needs and also has information about grants. Take a look! Does God have adoption in store for your family? There are grants out there, especially for special needs kids!

Gracie on imaginary play

Ana is full of imagination and play (and song and dance) all the time! This morning we were all involved in her imagination and went on a great adventure with her... much to Gracie's confusion! Gracie unlocked the imaginary door with the magic key with a serious look on her face and much questioning in her eyes as her princess sister sprung rejoicing from her emprisonment on her way to rescue the lost kitties from the robot! She clearly enjoyed being included, but... imaginary worlds?!
